IPC Resources: A guided tour

Abstract: In this webinar, we explore our full range of online courses, resources, templates, handy links to government information and regulations (Australia, New Zealand and Pacific region), webinars, and more.

We look at IPC resources specific to a wide variety of areas, such as acute, aged care, allied health, veterinary, dental, mental health, office-based, consumers, pharmacists, and beauty and body art.

The webinar also shows you how to find information about our position statements, scholarship and research grant opportunities, free publications such as IPC News, and the credentialling process.

Bios:
Carrie is an experienced infection prevention control consultant, holding a BSc (RN), a Master of Science (Advanced Nurse Practitioner) and a Master of Advanced Practice (Infection Prevention and Control). In addition, she has post graduate qualifications in chemotherapy, gastroenterology/endoscopy, genetics, immunisation, and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. As a registered nurse Carrie has experience across many healthcare settings in both Australia and the UK – where she became a Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Endoscopists. For the past 16 years back in Australia she has specialized in aged care management, quality and infection prevention and control.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Nursing (Honours), two graduate diplomas in peri-operative and critical care nursing (ICU), and a Master of Public Health. She is pursuing a PhD in pandemic preparedness at Deakin University. Karen’s career has taken her across the globe, working in the UK, Bermuda, and Abu Dhabi in both ICU and theatre nursing. She transitioned to Infection Prevention in Abu Dhabi before returning to Australia in 2014 to work in Alice Springs. Karen currently lives in Melbourne.
