Short Course in Infection Prevention and Control in Aged Care Settings

ACIPC is undertaking a revision of its Short Course in Infection Prevention and Control in Aged Care Settings.

The short course will increase the IPC knowledge and skills of RNs and EN/EENs working in Aged Care settings leading to:

  • increased quality and safety in care delivery
  • improved supervision and education of care workers
  • implementation of AMS and other IPC strategies
  • support for the IPC Clinical Leads and Facility/Clinical managers

The course will comprise various modules of approximately 18 to 20 hours of self-directed learning that will be supported by online resources, videos, structured readings, quizzes, moderated forum discussion, and a question-and-answer forum. This is the recommended course for Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses working within the aged care sector.

The course can be undertaken over six to eight weeks and a certificate of completion will be issued to students who complete the course. There will be no exam.

We invite you to complete the expression of interest form if you or your staff are interested in undertaking this course.
