Join ACIPC
Our membership is open to anyone who has an interest in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).
Our members include nurses, healthcare workers, academics and educators, researchers and scientists, IPC industry professionals, and policymakers. Members work in hospitals, aged care facilities, universities, and other healthcare settings such as dental surgeries. Members increasingly work in other workplaces including veterinarian clinics, tattoo parlours, and beautician clinics.
ACIPC membership is a valuable resource for anyone interested in infection prevention and control. Membership gives you access to the latest IPC news, research, and evidence-based practice, as well as peer networks of similar IPC professionals.
Membership delivers unparalleled access to your professional community, opportunities for research and professional development, discounted rates on educational courses, and access to member-only resources. Membership includes a subscription to the College’s highly regarded journal Infection, Disease & Health.
ACIPC membership is for a financial year. If you join from December, your membership will be pro-rata for the remainder of the current financial year. Renewal invoices are issued in June of each year.
Full Member
Individual- Full membership is granted to anyone who has an interest in infection prevention and control. Full members receive all membership benefits, have voting rights and are eligible to hold office. Full Members receive online access and a hard copy of the College’s journal, IDH.
Fellowship
Individual- Fellowship of the College is a prestigious membership status awarded to Infection Prevention and Control professionals in recognition of significant professional achievement. Full Members can apply for Fellowship. Fellowship Members receive online access and a hard copy to the College’s journal, IDH.
Postgraduate
Individual- Postgraduate student membership is available to any full-time student studying an IPC course at postgraduate level or equivalent that would be recognised for the purposes of ACIPC credentialling. Postgraduate student members receive all membership benefits, however they do not have voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. Postgraduate Members receive online access to the College’s journal, IDH.
Undergraduate
Individual- Undergraduate student membership is available to any full time student in any discipline. Undergraduate student members receive all membership benefits, however they do not have voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. Undergraduate Members receive online access to the College’s journal, IDH.
Retired Member/Fellow
Individual- The retired membership category is available for members over the age of 65 years who have retired from full time work. Retired Members receive all membership benefits, however they do not have voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. Retired Members receive online access to the College’s journal, IDH.
International
Individual- International membership is granted to any person outside Australia and New Zealand who has an interest in infection prevention and control. International members receive all membership benefits, however they do not have voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. International Members receive online access to the College’s journal, IDH.
LMI International
Individual- LMI International membership is available to individuals who reside in low and low-middle income countries as defined by the World Bank. LMI International Members receive membership benefits, however they do not have voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. LMI International Members receive online access to the College's journal, IDH.

Education Member
Individual- Students undertaking the Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control course will receive an education membership. Education Members receive membership benefits, however they do not have voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. Education Members receive online access to the College’s journal, IDH.
