    Good morning

As requested in yesterday’s IPC Governance webinar – the updated CDECT documents and IPC related review. Providers are recommended to do their own review.

Links below to the CDECT resources updated and published today by the Commission:

-Care Delivery Evidence Collection Tool (CDECT) – Care delivery location (Category 4 & 5):https://www.agedcarequality.gov.au/resource-library/care-delivery-evidence-collection-tool-cdect-care-delivery-location-category-4-5
-Care Delivery Evidence Collection Tool (CDECT) – Residential (Category 6): https://www.agedcarequality.gov.au/resource-library/care-delivery-evidence-collection-tool-cdect-residential-category-6

The key changes for both Category 4 and Category 6 include the addition of the following marked *:

*Communication materials for aged care workers and older people regarding infectious agents and risk reduction measures (e.g. posters and flyers)
Records for aged care workers that include pre-employment checks, current contact details, qualifications, and experience
*Evidence that the Infection Prevention and Control Lead has completed training in line with legislative requirements
*Vaccination and immunisation records for workers and volunteers
Cat 6 only: A record of all older people receiving psychotropic medications (e.g. medication register or equivalent documentation)
Cat 6 only: A record of all older people subject to any form of restrictive practice (chemical, environmental, mechanical, physical, or seclusion)
*Reactive and preventative cleaning and maintenance schedules, including supporting records
Equipment records demonstrating the purchase and replacement of items (e.g. oxygen devices, beds, lifts, slings, wheelchairs, walkers)
*Records of audits relating to the service environment, equipment, and aids
Workplace Health and Safety meeting minutes or equivalent documentation

The following wording has been slightly revised:

*Staff induction manuals, training resources, and educational materials
There is also an inclusion relating to agency staff and subcontractors:
*A training and induction register for aged care workers—including agency staff and subcontractors—documenting completion of core training requirements, including those aligned with the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
