WHO Webinar: Transforming IPC practice

Register now for the WHO EPI-WIN webinar: Transforming IPC practice: new tools and implementation approaches for outbreak preparedness and response

Date: 20 February 2026

Time: 12:00AM AEDT (2:00PM CET)

Online via Zoom

This webinar tackles one of the most critical areas in health emergencies: infection prevention and control (IPC) in health facilities and communities. It introduces the recently published WHO product entitled: Framework and toolkit for infection prevention and control outbreak preparedness, readiness and response implementation manual, and demonstrates, through regional and country experiences, practical tools and implementation approaches that countries can use to strengthen IPC before, during, and after outbreaks.

Recent large-scale outbreaks have highlighted how health facilities (HFs) with limited or no infection prevention and control (IPC) capacities can amplify emerging infectious disease transmission within facilities and communities and across borders. To mitigate the risk of disease transmission, WHO has developed the The Framework and toolkit for infection prevention and control outbreak preparedness, readiness and response at the national level (IPC-OFT) and the corresponding Implementation Manual, that is an actionable tool specifically designed to practical implementation, aiming to support the countries to improve the capacity to respond to public health emergencies. This webinar will present and discuss the implementation approaches for IPC outbreak preparedness, readiness and response.
