ACIPC members are invited to attend the upcoming Sustainability SIG meeting which will be held on Thursday, 11 September at 2pm (AEST) via Zoom. This is a free event open to ACIPC members.

Topic: Understanding choices through Climate Literacy

Event Description:
Climate Literacy is in everyone’s interest. It informs peoples choices and helps build understanding of the relationship between the lives we lead and the world around us. In our professional and personal lives, we have many opportunities to make a difference – big and small. Knowing what emissions are, how to lighten our footprint and advocating for climate justice are key to the transformation needed to ensure a liveable planet well into the future. Knowledge is power and with it comes choice. Learn about the choices available to you today!

Speakers:
Nickey Ludkins became a certified Carbon Literate in 2019 with the Carbon Literacy Trust (UK). Her action plan was a pledge to inform and empower as many people as possible to become advocates for responsible consumption and production in the fight for the planet and environment. Before joining ECU, Nickey completed a Master of Science (Development Studies) from the London School of Economics, UK, and worked in an environmental consultancy focusing on water sensitive urban design (WSUD), indicating her pursuit of sustainability, the environment and social justice.
