Professor Lisa Hall – Election Statement

I am committed to addressing the risks of healthcare associated infections and antimicrobial resistance.  Over the past 25 years I have created a vibrant “evidence to clinical translation” pipeline where research and policy needs are identified locally; with innovations designed, implemented, and evaluated in partnership with consumers and clinicians.

I am known for my positive, innovative and pragmatic approach to my research and teaching, focussing on projects that will make a real difference to patients and healthcare workers. The breadth of my collaborations and contributions; and the people I have mentored is testament to my impact and influence on infection control, antimicrobial stewardship and epidemiology in Australia and internationally.   I also bring significant governance experience from active roles on boards and committees within the higher education, health and medical research sectors.

Over the years I have actively contributed to ACIPC, particularly through the annual scientific conference.  In 2025 I am seeking election onto the ACIPC Board.  As a Director I would like to use my knowledge, skills and connections to:

  • Continue to build the multidisciplinary focus of the college, realising we make the most impact when we partner with experts from a “broad church” – including public health, pharmacy, digital health, veterinary practice, engineering, and economics
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with like-minded professional associations globally – to protect against emerging funding and political threats to the profession.
  • Support infection prevention and AMS capability uplift in aged care – moving beyond communities of practice to embed and support quality improvement activities and research.
  • Help the College advocate for policy that is evidence-based, implementable and cost-effective at a national level. Advocate for person-centred, integrated care that balances risk and compassion
  • Support further review and scaling of our educational offerings, especially in the one health space.
  • Be an early adopter of the revised credentialling program, so that I can then support my fellow non-nurses to become credentialed
