NEW Vascular Access SIG December meeting

The first Vascular Access Special Interest Group (VASIG) meeting will be held online on Tuesday, 16 December at 3pm (AEDT).

This is a free event and will be offered online via Microsoft Teams.

Topic: First Vascular Access Special Interest Group (VASIG) Meeting.

Event Description:
This is the inaugural meeting of the Vascular Access Special Interest Group (VASIG). We warmly welcome infection prevention and control professionals, nurses, physicians, epidemiologists, and other professionals involved in vascular access or infusion therapy who are committed to improving infection prevention and best-practice device insertion and care across Australasia.

The VASIG will provide an open, collaborative space for you to connect, share experiences, and discuss current challenges in vascular access practice. You will have the opportunity to collaborate on research and education initiatives, contribute to the development of evidence-based policy and guidelines, and support safe and effective vascular access across clinical settings. We invite you to join us and help shape the direction and priorities of this new SIG.

Speaker:
Claire Rickard is a leading researcher in infection prevention and vascular access at the University of Queensland. She has led more than 50 randomised controlled trials and focuses on preventing healthcare-associated infections and other complications related to central, peripheral, venous, and arterial catheters.
