HI everyone
We are reviewing type of surgical mask required for procedures in OT , particularly day procedure and endoscopy. AS4381:2015 outlines some of the applications for Level 2 and 3 surgical masks in table below . Has anyone risk rated the procedures in their DPU and endoscopy or OT to determine appropriate barrier protection by mask?We are experiencing delays in supply of Level 3 masks which will hopefully be rectified as soon as possible. OT staff have expressed concern regarding the use of Level 2 masks for minor procedures in DPU and endoscopy as they have always used level 3 masks for all procedures. I’m interested in your advice on mask use in OT.
Regards
