    Good morning,

I am reasonably new to this role and have a question in regards to routine cleaning of equipment/environment in a maternity setting, in particular baths in the nursery and Isolettes. For standard cleaning when there is no known reason to use additional precautions/products is a routine clean adequate after patient use – detergent and water? At present staff are using V-wipes to clean equipment with the argument that the babies are vulnerable given many that use the nursery and Isolettes are preterm or need additional care perhaps being at a higher risk of infection. I would be interested to read what current practices occur when it comes to the above.

    Regards
