    Hi Michelle
There are competency documents from both the Infection Prevention
Society in the UK and the Association for Professionals in Infection
Control and Epidemiology (USA) which might inform your task, both
available on their websites. The Infection Prevention Society UK
website also has two self assessment tools.
    Best wishes

I am developing a local curriculum for ICPs (beginning and relieving)
and I have a copy of Cruikshank & Murphy’s Reducing harm to patients
from HAIs: An Australian infection prevention and control model for
acute hospitals. I intend to use the competencies listed by the
Victorian nurses. Is there any other resources out there I could
    utilise?

    Hi Michelle,
In addition to the other links provided, in the Australian Guidelines for
the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care (NHMRC 2010)
section C1.3 there is an outline of the elements considered important for
an Australian Infection Prevention and Control Program, however, many of
these are dependent upon effective clinical governance for infection
prevention and control in your organisation. For additional information on
governance this is located in section C1.1 of the Guidelines.

The NHS Scotland have also developed a comprehensive framework for career
development for infection prevention and control nurses that may be useful
    for you

    Regards,
    Sue
