Hi Brains Trust,
I have recently had a query raised by our Sterilising Department regarding the use of plastic / non-metal trays and whether they comply with AS4187 (A5.5.2) requirements.
They report that there have ” been vague discussions in the ether regarding the need to phase out plastic / non-metal trays due to difficulty in complying with Standards on a number of issues – cleaning, drying, the plastic v metal combination etc”.
If you have phased them out in your facility can you please let me know why. If you are still using them can you also let me know why?
Kind regards,
