Acute Pre-hospital SIG First Meeting

You are warmly invited to attend the first Acute Prehospital IPC Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting on Wednesday, 8 April 2026 at 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM AEST. This is a free event offered online via Microsoft Teams.

Date:  Wednesday, 8 April 2026 at 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM AEST

Topic:  First acute prehospital IPC special interest group (AP-IPC SIG) meeting

This online meeting brings together key IPC people primarily in the ambulance and acute retrieval sector (e.g. Royal Flying Doctor Service). We have unique challenges with IPC in our space and have a need to network, share information, and drive and influence change within services and at a higher level.

Event Description:

This the first meeting of the AP-IPC SIG and is an opportunity for the AP-IPC professionals to meet the current Australian leads, network and collaborate and share any priority topics that will be discussed at future SIG meetings.

Associate Professor Nigel Barr will also be joining to discuss research opportunities.

The key objectives of the AP-IPC SIG are to:

  • Have a formalised network with others in similar sectors.
  • Share information as we have similar challenges and needs.
  • Reduce duplication of work, driving faster change across the industry.
  • Increase awareness across the IPC community of the work in this sector.
  • Advocate for the acute prehospital sector.
