About the role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC2) Infection Prevention and Control provides an advanced level nursing service as an expert in the specialty field and facilitates linkages and relationships with nurses/midwives and medical officers to support patient management.

Responsible for expert clinical organisation, coordination, leadership and consultancy services within the area of Infection Prevention and Control and target populations within the Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD).

The CNC2 collaborates with key stakeholders to act as the principal agent of the Infection Prevention and Control Service in implementing the NNSWLHD and site Infection Prevention and Control Program.

Who we are looking for

You’ll be a qualified Registered Nurse (NSW) with 3 years’ full time equivalent experience in Infection Prevention and Control and postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience.

You’ll have proven clinical expertise and leadership skills in Infection Prevention and Control and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework demonstrating commitment to excellence in Nursing Practice.

You’ll have proven leadership in strategic and clinical service planning and experience and expertise in the management of organisational and cultural change.

You’ll have high level advanced communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and government and non-government agencies.
