Guest Speaker: Ursula Howarth; Clinical Nurse Consultant; QIPCU, Communicable Diseases Branch, Population Health Division, Queensland Health.

Ursula is an infection prevention and control specialist with over 20 years of cross‑sector healthcare experience across veterinary nursing, paramedicine, acute human nursing and academia. A credentialled Infection Control Professional (Advanced), she has held IPC Clinical Nurse Consultant roles with Queensland Ambulance Service, Ambulance Tasmania and the Queensland Infection Prevention and Control Unit. She advances IPC in paramedicine through research and by establishing the Acute Prehospital IPC Special Interest Group at ACIPC. Her early work in small‑animal clinics and a Brisbane emergency centre strengthened her capability to manage IPC in unpredictable, resource‑limited environments.
