Developing a national approach to monitoring peripheral intravenous catheter care quality: An asynchronous, online, modified Delphi study
Study researchers are conducting a research study which aims to develop a national approach to monitoring peripheral intravenous catheter (PIVC) care quality, in alignment with the national PIVC Clinical Care Standard.
We invite clinicians who meet the below criteria to participate as expert panel members in the study:
At least 5 years’ experience or currently working in a role responsible for PIVC care monitoring, policy and/or outcome assessment (e.g., Infectious Diseases Physicians, Infection Prevention and Control and Vascular Access Clinical Nurse Consultants) in Australia.
The study will involve a series of survey rounds (maximum three). As an expert panel member, in each round, you will be sent a weblink with a survey to complete online at your convenience within a 2-week timeframe. You will be provided with information about the study and participation at the beginning of each round prior to survey completion.
Participation as an expert panel member is optional, and consent will be implied by completing and submitting the survey rounds. You may withdraw from the expert panel or a survey round at any time.
This study has received ethical approval from the Metro North Health Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC/2025/MNH/117071) and has been ratified by the committees of Griffith University (2025/559) and The
