Event Description:
In our upcoming Vascular Access Special Interest Group (VASIG) meeting, we are pleased to welcome guest speaker Melanie Trainor, who will present on the development of a standardised education resource for PIVC insertion and management, alongside Western Australian surveillance data on healthcare-associated Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections associated with PIVCs.
We will also hear from Dr Josie Lovegrove, who will present Queensland-wide results from a PIVC point prevalence study.
The meeting will also include updates on the VASIG/AVAS partnership, VASIG vascular access policy repository, the VASIG position statement on ultrasound-guided PIVC insertion, and a special journal issue on VASCULAR ACCESS within the Infection, Disease and Health journal, for those interested in publishing vascular access research. Additionally, we will introduce a new PIVC Point Prevalence Snapshot Study, with an opportunity for members to express interest in participating.
We would also like to highlight an upcoming workshop at the ACIPC conference (Sunday 8 November), organised by the VASIG and led by Associate Professor Evan Alexandrou on Principles and Practice in Difficult Venous Access. We would love to see you all there!
