IPC Week 2025: Standing Up for Infection Prevention
Each year, the third week of October marks International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) – a time to celebrate and recognise the vital role of infection prevention and control (IPC) in protecting health and saving lives. In 2025, IPC Week will take place from 19–25 October, bringing together healthcare professionals, organisations, and communities across Australia and the globe.
This year, ACIPC is proud to partner with the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases (ASID) to deliver a suite of resources designed to support workplaces, health services, and communities in promoting IPC awareness and action.
The 2025 theme, “STAND UPPP for IPC – Unite. Prevent. Protect. Prevail.”, highlights the shared responsibility we all have in preventing the spread of infection. It is a rallying call for individuals and organisations alike to unite in purpose, prioritise prevention, protect patients and staff, and prevail over infectious threats.
New resources developed for IPC Week include posters, workplace activities, and interactive tools that make IPC engagement practical and visible. These materials are free to download and designed to spark conversations, encourage learning, and showcase the profession’s contribution to safer healthcare.
Whether you’re working in healthcare, public health, aged care, education, or simply within your local community, IPC Week is your chance to join a global movement dedicated to protecting patients, families, and frontline workers. Together, we can stand up for infection prevention and continue to build safer, healthier futures.
