Are you an Infection Prevention and Control Lead or Facility Manager responsible for IPC in residential aged care?

The University of Sydney is conducting the Aged Care Infection Prevention and Control Project, a national research initiative seeking input from IPC professionals.

This study aims to establish clear guidelines and standards for what should comprise an effective infection control program in residential aged care, and how IPC Leads can be professionally prepared and supported to run these programs — helping protect older Australians from healthcare-associated infection and communicable disease

The project will:

• Establish core requirements for the elements and governance of IPC programs in residential aged care homes.
• Establish minimum professional practice requirements and competency standards for IPC Leads in this setting.

You’re invited to take part if you:

• Are currently employed as a designated IPC Lead within a residential aged care home; OR
• Currently hold, or have held within the last 12 months, a managerial position within an aged care organisation with responsibility for IPC.
