New Resource for Sepsis in Easy Read

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care have released a new Easy Read resource about sepsis, as part of their activities to mark International Day of People with Disability.

Developed as part of the National Sepsis Program, it aims to support people with intellectual disability and cognitive impairment to understand the signs and symptoms of sepsis and what to do if they are worried about sepsis.

This year, the theme for IDPwD is ‘Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress’.  The Easy Read resource provides accessible health information to support early recognition and response. It is also digitally accessible for screen readers.

Easy Read is an accessible written format that can be helpful to ensure health information is better understood, supporting informed and shared decision making.
