    Dear colleagues,

I wanted to seek your opinion on the use of CHG impregnated dressings/disks for various vascular access insertion sites (Arterial Cannula, PICC, Midline, CVC, Dialysis Catheters).
We are trying to weigh up the risks of vascular line infections vs CHG reactions to try and come to a decision about whether we should be using these products as a standard.
Is this a type of product others are using? How have you come to that decision for using CHG dressings/disks?

We have a very small incidence of line related infections, therefore have been reluctant to implement CHG dressings/disks unless clinically indicated. Using CHG then introduces the other issues of sensitivity of which you still have to a range of non CHG products.

    Thanks in advance!
    Fleur
