HI Erin,

Would you be willing to share your signs that you have used to educate your staff and patients on not flushing down any wipes in the sewerage system

We to have had the same issues

Hi Erin

I am at relatively new hospital and we have had 2 times that the wipes have blocked the system. To the point that waste water starting leaking into clinical areas below a blockage. I removed all wipes from patient’s bedside areas and ensured they were in locations for nurses and placed some signage up in patients bathrooms and with the pan hoppers. At the time we suspected that patients were either flushing bath wipes, Clinell or daily wipes down the drain/toilet.

By some simple education and signage we haven’t had any other issues.

Kind Regards
Alison

Has anyone had any experiences with disinfectant cleaning wipes entering and blocking the sewage systems in their facilities? If so how have you combated this problem (removing wipes from bathroom spaces? changing to alterative products that are less inclined to cause blockages etc.?)
