Membership Descriptions
Full Membership
Full membership is granted to any person who has an interest in the field of infection control. They shall have full voting rights and shall be eligible to hold office.
Retired
The retired membership category is for those members over the age of 65 yrs who have retired from full time or part time work but wish to continue being up to date with the latest information. They shall not have voting rights and shall not be eligible to hold office.
Undergraduate Student
Undergraduate student membership is available to any full time student in any discipline. Membership will be for 12 months or until date of graduation whichever comes sooner. Application for admission as a student must be accompanied by evidence of student enrolment. Student members will receive all benefits of membership with ACIPC, however they shall not have voting rights and shall not be eligible to hold office.
Postgraduate Student
Postgraduate student membership is available to any full time or part time student studying a postgraduate infection control course or equivalent as would be recognised for the purposes of ACIPC credentialing. Membership is available to new members only and will be until date of graduation. A new membership is defined as not having been a full member of ACIPC in the past 5 years. Application for admission as a student must be accompanied by evidence of student enrolment. Student members will receive all benefits of membership with ACIPC, however they shall not have voting rights and shall not be eligible to hold office.
International Member
Full membership is granted to any person in the Australasian region who has an interest in the field of infection control International members will receive all benefits of membership with ACIPC, however they shall not have voting rights and shall not be eligible to hold office.
Low or Low-middle Income Country
Low or low-middle country membership is granted to any person with an interest in infection prevention and control from a country as defined by the World Bank as a low or low-middle income economy (http://data.worldbank.org/about/country-classifications ). This membership will also include residents of any of the following countries or territories within Australasia as per the eligibility requirements for the ACIPC International Scholarship Program:

The World Bank Classification of Economies
Economies are currently divided into four income groupings: low, lower-middle, upper-middle, and high, based on the Gross National Income (GNI) per capita. These thresholds are updated annually at the beginning of the World Bank’s fiscal year (i.e., July 1), with an adjustment for inflation. Income thresholds are as indicated below.
